A confession ... and a humble request

So, I head back to work on Monday, March 1, 2010, after being unemployed since Friday, May 1, 2009.

And I'm a little freaked out about it.

The freak-out is not so much about the job itself, but is more about returning to the world of the working after being "out of the game" for awhile.

As I prepare to set foot into full-time employment for the first time in 10 months -- and in an agency environment for the first time in my career -- I ask ...

What advice do you have for someone who hasn't worked full-time in almost a year and is starting a new job?

  1. Simple: relax.

Sure, there's going to be differences, but you're so "plugged in" when it comes doing this line of work and it's inspired me to become comfortable with this whole social media deal that you're going to be great.

Relax, be patient and be yourself. The rest will take care of itself.

  2. Ask questions
Take a lunch it saves money
Don't judge anyone or get sucked into the
    rumor mill.
    Find a mentor
    Have faith
    Have fun
    Appreciate your new "eyes"
    and most of all...
be the superstar that you are- that is why they hired you!

  3. know that they hired you for a reason, so be confident but listen

  4. Bring cookies;)

  5. I agree with Tim....cookies might make us like you more :P Now I am going to dislike you till you bring on the cookies. Ha ha.

Bring a lunch because we have a huge refrigerator and a microwave. And it's cold outside...

And everyone here has been so nice and patient with me, so I wouldn't worry.
